Joint Project Nanoanalytics

Within the framework of the 18-month joint nanoanalytics project, promoted by the International Office of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) to initiate collaborations in the field of nanoanalytics between German and Japanese research institutions and companies, two successful workshop series on the topic of nanoanalytics were held in Japan in 2010 and 2011 under the overall control of the Cluster Nanotechnology and with the support of Japanese cooperation partners. In the run-up to and following the leading nanotechnology exhibition, Nanotech in Tokyo, technical workshops were held in Fukuoka, Kyoto, Osaka and Tokyo.

The activities were aimed at presenting the latest results from research and development by the German joint partners, to stimulate collaborations with research and industry on this topic in Japan and to expand cooperation. In particular the gaining of new application partners stood centre stage in the project; since most developments in the field of nanoanalytics were only carried out to address specific questions, it had not yet been possible, for various reasons, to achieve a generalisation or broader range of applications
